Box lockers are most commonly used in locations where space is at a definite premium in order to provide employee storage solutions or for visitors' small personal items. They are compact yet efficient and work well in gyms, offices and schools--any place you need to provide storage for a large number of users in a limited amount of space. They include a spacious box-shaped storage area for storing books, cell phones, electronics, gym clothes, purses, wallets and other gadgets and belongings. We only acquire high-quality units--so you can be sure that anything you buy from us will give you years of heavy duty, maintenance-free use.
The vast majority of our used metal box lockers have the following features:
- DOORS: Heavy duty 16 gauge reinforced welded channel frame doors that are as durable as they come. Before we sell any locker, we thoroughly inspect and replace/repair each component to ensure that the doors will function flawlessly for years to come.
- HANDLES: Projecting single-point friction catch door pull that works with either padlocks or built-in locks. The fact that it has no moving parts gives it a quiet operation that won't require any upkeep.
- LOCK OPTIONS: Accept multiple types of locks, including built-in combination locks, built-in key locks, coin-operated locks, combination padlocks, digitized locks and keyed padlocks. Some were originally manufactured to only accept one type of lock, and if that is the case it will be clearly indicated in the specific locker description.
- BASES: Most were previously installed on either concrete or wood bases, so they don't have legs. They do have a solid 1" frame underneath them so that they can be set directly on the floor, but we recommend providing some sort of base to give them a bit more stability. We recommend using either metal, wood or a concrete curb and making the base 4" high.
- VENTILATION: Ventilated doors allow for plenty of air circulation. If you need a higher degree of ventilation or would like to have the ability to visually inspect locker contents, take a look at our Gym Lockers category.
- NUMBER PLATES: Most have number plates, but they likely won't be in sequential order. If you would like yours to be numbered sequentially, we have number plates in stock and can provide or install them for a minimal upcharge. Remember that if we do install the number plates prior to shipment, you will need to place your lockers in the correct order once they arrive.
- LATCHING: Welded padlock hasps enable each compartment to be securely locked independently
- HINGES: Either continuous piano hinges or two heavy duty, double spun, full loop, tight pin, five-knuckle hinges
- CONTINUOUS DOOR STRIKES: Full-length door stop flanges keep frames and latches in pristine condition by preventing scratches and dents
- PAINTING: All lockers will have been originally coated with either a durable baked enamel or powder coated premium paint process that gives them a durable, nice looking, scratch-resistant finish.
- QUIET FEATURES: Rubber bumpers that lessen noises that come from opening and closing the doors
NOTE: Any exceptions or upgrades to the specifications listed above will be clearly indicated on the specific locker listing.
