Box gym lockers are smaller in size than other athletic lockers and used to store cell phones, digital gadgets, purses, wallets and other small personal items. They are commonly used in athletic clubs, dressing rooms, gym changing rooms, martial arts studios, sports arenas and team locker rooms--anywhere you need to provide secure storage for a large number of users in a small amount of space. Each has a spacious opening to store personal items, making box athletic lockers compact yet efficient. We only sell used lockers that have been built to the highest quality standards--so you can be sure that anything you buy from us will give you years of heavy duty, maintenance-free use.
Most of the used box gym lockers we sell have the following features:
- DOORS: 14 gauge doors with diamond-shaped perforations provide maximum ventilation
- BODY CONSTRUCTION: 16 gauge diamond-perforated sides and 16 gauge solid steel tops and bottoms
- HANDLES: Projecting single-point friction catch door pull that is compatible with padlocks or built-in locks. Having no moving parts makes for a quiet, maintenance-free operation.
- LOCK OPTIONS: Compatible with multiple types of locker locks, including built-in combination locks, built-in key locks, coin-operated locks, combination padlocks, digital locks and keyed padlocks. Some were originally manufactured to accept only one type of lock (usually either a built-in style or padlock), and if so it will be clearly indicated on the specific locker listing.
- BASES: Most were previously installed on concrete or wood bases, so they don't have legs. They do have a solid 1" frame underneath them so that they can be set directly on the floor, but we recommend providing them with some sort of base to give them a bit more stability and allow them to remain elevated, protected from the elements, and give you easier access to contents stored inside. We recommend using either metal, wood or concrete curb and making the base 4" high.
- VENTILATION: Louvered doors provide plenty of air circulation and ventilation, allowing any contents stored inside (gym clothes, towels, uniforms, swimming suits, equipment, etc.) to dry out quickly and lessen the sweaty, musty odors commonly found in locker rooms and changing rooms.
- NUMBER PLATES: Most come with number plates, but they likely won't be in chronological order. If you would like yours to be numbered sequentially, we do have number plates in stock and can provide or install them for a minimal upcharge. Remember that if we do install the number plates prior to shipping your lockers, you will need to place them in the correct order once they arrive.
- LATCHING: Welded padlock hasps enable each compartment to be securely locked independently
- HINGES: Either continuous piano hinges or two heavy duty, double spun, full loop, tight pin, five-knuckle hinges
- CONTINUOUS DOOR STRIKES: Full-length door stop flanges keep frames and latches in pristine condition by preventing scratches and dents
- PAINTING: Most will have originally been painted using a premium paint process that provides an attractive, durable, scratch-resistant finish.
- QUIET FEATURES: Rubber bumpers lessen the noises associated with opening and closing locker doors
NOTE: Any exceptions or upgrades to the specifications above will be clearly indicated on the specific locker listing.
